Age Requirement

Geilo Mountain Lodge has a minimum age requirement of 25 years for reservation, stay and payment.

Guests under the age of 25 are welcome when travelling together with a person aged 25 or older.

Payment and Reservation Confirmation

For reservations made by telephone or email, the guest will receive a reservation confirmation with a payment link by email within 24 hours. The payment link reflects the agreed pension rate (accommodation including meals) excluding beverages at the time of booking. The reservation becomes fully confirmed upon payment of the payment link within 7 days of issuance.

For reservations made through booking links on our own or other websites, payment of the pension rate excluding beverages is completed at the time of booking, and confirmation is received immediately.

All purchases made during the stay that have not been prepaid must be settled at departure.

Payment may be made by debit card or credit card. Cash payments are discouraged whenever possible.

Geilo Mountain Lodge accepts debit and credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard and Diners, both for payment at the lodge and for reservations made via booking links on our website or the website of De Historiske.

Invoicing

Payment by invoice may be arranged only in exceptional and pre-approved cases. Any administrative costs incurred by Geilo Mountain Lodge in connection with invoice processing will be covered by an invoice administration fee.

Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

Geilo Mountain Lodge is a small accommodation property with only 10 guest rooms. Our guests usually plan their stays well in advance, and we often experience that several guests or groups wish to stay during the same weekend or midweek period.

To avoid situations where cancellations occur close to the arrival date and where Geilo Mountain Lodge is unable to resell the room capacity at short notice, a set of reservation and cancellation rules has been established.

Cancellation of the entire stay or parts of the stay with full refund of the paid amount can be made up to 30 days prior to arrival.

Up to 14 days prior to arrival, the reservation may be cancelled fully or partially with a 50% refund of the paid pension rate.

Please note the following exception:
Cancellations made up to 7 days before arrival may still be refunded in full if the reservation in question has not prevented Geilo Mountain Lodge from accepting other bookings.

Transaction fees paid by Geilo Mountain Lodge to its banking partners will be deducted from any refund.

Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is available from 16:00 (4:00 PM) on the day of arrival, and check-out must take place no later than 12:00 (12:00 PM) on the day of departure.

These times may be adjusted if practical and possible for us to accommodate.

Damage to Property

Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused, directly or indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally, to guest rooms, common areas, other property, inventory and/or equipment belonging to Geilo Mountain Lodge.

Force Majeure

Events beyond the control of Geilo Mountain Lodge that result in cancellation of the stay and/or activities not being carried out are not covered by the cancellation and refund provisions.

Examples of such events include strikes, fire, extreme weather or severe weather conditions, illness or pandemics, or government-imposed restrictions.

In such cases, Geilo Mountain Lodge will nevertheless make every reasonable effort to refund or compensate the loss whenever possible.

Insurance

We recommend that our guests obtain travel insurance covering cancellations, illness and accidents.
