It is not always appropriate to run up one mountain peak after another. Physical limitations should not be an obstacle to explore this beautiful village. We have set up an imaginary 3-day inspiration stay that shows a little of what the destination has to offer. There are of course many other activities to take part in, and we are happy to tailor a stay based on your wishes and dreams.
Day 1 - Arrival day and a small stroll
The Bergen Railwail takes you from the center of Norway's two largest cities in just 3 hours. Travel comfortably and green! Sit back, find peace of mind and enjoy beautiful scenery on one of the world's most beautiful train journeys. We'll pick you up at the train station!

Check-in, Refreshments, Short walk in the local area
As a short afternoon trip, you can stroll the 300 meters away to the center of Geilo. Here there are shops and also cozy cafes where you can have a cup of coffee etc.

Day 2 - Prestholtseter & Mountain Farm Visit
We get in the car and take you on a great trip up under the Hallingskarvet, up to Prestholtseter. We drive the mountain road up beautiful Havsdalen and over the mountain plateau under the majestic mountain ridge. On the way, we stop at the mountain farm of Hammarsbøen Gard, where we explore good old-fashioned mountain farm operation. Once at Prestholtseter, you can take a walk on easy hiking trails and even climb some of the Sherpa stairs. You decide how far and how heavy. We enjoy delicious food and drink, and if the weather is with us, it's incredibly nice to sit outside.

Wake up to a great view over Geilo. Enjoy the morning with a self-made espresso in bed and some morning quality time together, before you stroll down to breakfast

Meeting at reception and departure from Geilo Mountain Lodge. We drive up towards Havsdalen and Prestholtseter.

On the way, we stop in the middle of Havsdalen and at one of the several mountain farms located here. We will explore stable farming and taste local delicacies.

Once at Prestholtseter, we enjoy the wonderful view of the vast expanses and majestic mountains. We can poke around a bit if the form allows.

Return to Geilo Mountain Lodge. Relaxation before dinner. If you fancy a little activity, you can stroll over to Geilo centre and look at the collection of beautiful old houses from our area.

Aperitif and dinner.
Day 3 - Fishing in mountain lakes & Mountain SPA
At Ustaoset lies the magical Ustevatn. Here you have the Hardangervidda on one side and the fierce Hallingskarvet on the other. We take you out in a canoe or rowing boat, and catch nets with fish. When we have come ashore, we gut the fish and eat freshly grilled trout from the bonfire. Afterwards there will be a delicious sauna and a cooling bath in fresh mountain water.
